In Loving Memory of Mike Polachek: Sun Devil for Life
The Sun Devil Family mourns the loss of Mike Polachek, a proud 1970 graduate of ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Business and a steadfast supporter of Sun Devil Athletics for more than three decades. Mike’s life was defined by loyalty, generosity and his enduring love for his beloved Arizona State University Sun Devils.
A devoted Sun Devil through and through, Mike was a 33-year season ticket holder in football, men’s basketball and baseball. His connection to ASU Athletics ran deep, from trying out for Coach Winkles’ baseball team as a student, to later serving as a member of the Sun Angel Advisory Committee and as a board member for the Sun Devil Club. His passion helped shape the culture of support and engagement that so many benefit from today.
Beyond ASU, Mike was a prominent real estate broker and developer in Phoenix for over 40 years and a dedicated member of the Thunderbirds. He was deeply committed to building up his community, and he brought that very energy and integrity to every endeavor.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife Jane, their children Brett, Brian and Blair, and their grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, a proud father a doting grandfather, and a true friend to many. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the institutions he strengthened and the enduring Sun Devil spirit he carried with him always.
We are deeply grateful for Mike’s unwavering support and his immeasurable contributions to Sun Devil Athletics. He will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.
Forks Up, Always.
Rest in peace, Mike.
