Sun Devil Club FY22 Review

A Look Back at the 2021-22 Season

It’s no secret that the 2021-22 season came with its trials and tribulations for Sun Devil Athletics. Irrespective of the highs and lows, however, remained YOU. As some semblance of normalcy returned to college athletics, so too did Sun Devil Nation show its true colors.

Support and donor involvement sky-rocketed as we saw something of a return to a pre-Pandemic athletic season. We saw many of our programs make deep postseason runs but above all else we were able to see that development in our student-athletes that reminds us why we do it. Changing lives and creating opportunities at a time where it’s never been more important.

We celebrated 50 years of Title IX and advancement of our female student-athletes, while fixing our eyes on the future and the work that is still needed to be done. We opened a new beach volleyball facility and we saw progress on a Multi-Purpose Arena project that is set to be completed in just a matter of months.

In the area of fundraising, the Sun Devil Club is proud to report 36 new endowments were established in the last 12 months while a record 17 estate gifts were committed, reaffirming the bright future of Sun Devil Athletics.

In addition to these enhancements we were able to provide thanks to your generosity we also had the opportunity to host major NCAA events right here in our own backyard. We hosted the Pac-12 Lacrosse Tournament, NCAA regional and super-regional play for softball and we hosted the NCAA Golf Championships for both men and women at beautiful Grayhawk.

We backed up our belief that there has never been a better time to be a Sun Devil. Amid all the noise, all the changes to the landscape we remained true to our promise to help develop young people to achieve success on the field, in the classroom and in life.
